The oracle problem
A contract may need an exchange rate, proof of an event, or a message from another network. Relying on one source creates a point of failure. Oracle networks combine multiple data sources and independent operators to reduce that dependency.
Where value may accrue
Research should distinguish product adoption from token demand. Consider how node operators are paid, what users pay for services, how staking functions, and whether usage creates durable economic demand.
Risks worth tracking
Data quality, operator concentration, application configuration, cross-network complexity, competition, and changing token incentives all matter. Reliable infrastructure can still be misused by an application that selects weak parameters.
